Review of 3 Wikis
1. 21CTools: http://21ctools.wikispaces.com/ Purpose: Integrating the 21st century tools into your teaching – technology tutorials for teachers (This was actually the home page title). This is exactly what I want to do – gather all my tutorials into one place so they are more visual for the teachers. There will be many things in this site that I can link to and share.
2. “All About Math” Wiki (Marstons Mills East Horace Mann Charter Public School) http://allaboutmath.wikispaces.com/ Purpose:This site focuses on math from K through Grade 4 offering a summary of the chapters in the math book and vocabulary within each chapter. It also provides the resources and gives the standards for each grade level. With our new math book adoption, this is something the district could work on for all grade levels. This could be a collaboration between math curriculum specialists, math team folks, and instructional technology specialists for all teachers. I also went deep into this wiki and found great technology support with information resources in http://juliazanglcolby.wikispaces.com/.
3. Salute to Seuss: http://salutetoseuss.wikispaces.com/ Purpose: an online project for Pre-K to 6th grade to integrate Web 2.0 and literature. There are book reviews, weblinks, worksheets and activities to name a few. I thought I would show this to our librarian and possibly create something for all grades or a specific grade. Another idea is to use a wiki for our science fair. I could collaborate with the science team on this idea.
